On Wednesday to celebrate my 10 Bikram Yoga class Sonia and I decided to go to our favorite store to get candles and incense, and see what book they had that was new. After the silent sign release itself from the neck of Sonia, she now wears the Ankh symbol around her neck. While in the store our attention was drawn to this eye symbol, Sonia say “that it that my third eye, this is the symbol I must now wear around my neck”. The young lady in the store comments that this is the only one and it’s the first time they ever have anything like this in the store. And she was thinking about buying it. Now she sees the rightful owner, it belongs to Sonia. Oh what a delight Sonia eyes was fill with joy,”yes Spear now I can see them from a distance. This is the reason we are at the store today so I could get my third eye.

Doing the Bikram yoga have thought me so many things I observed each class, and see how important it is to focus ,I watch as those that loses their focus succumb to the heat in the room.

Many times I wrote about the power hunters people in the music business that I come in contact with. Now without name dropping I would like to say there are a lot of good honest people in the music business, their only passion is the love of music. They have embraced we independent artist with open arms, knowing that this is the way of the future for artist. They know what it likes to be independent, and most of all they love music. . I must encourage all my fans to support the independent stores, the force behind these stores are real music lovers.

The passions I share for music I now share that passion for books. These words from Tao Te Ching I would like to share with you. “fill your bowl to the brim and it will spill. Keep sharpening your knife and it will blunt, chase after money and security and your heart will never unclench. Care about people’s approval and you will be their prisoner. Do your work, then step back. The only path to serenity.” We have to be on a path of serenity to get there we need to focus on the things that are truly important, and this will take the courage to stand up and speak the truth from our heart and not worry about anyone approvals.
We don’t need anyone approval to live our best life on our own terms.
Crisis happen to us when we ignore the warning close our eyes to what we should have speak up about. We must turn every crisis into a blessing, Look far over ,yes as far as your eyes can see, behold the joy of freedom.

Many may wonder why I call the new album Jah is Real, this album is a testimony of how Jah took I on a journey to the bottom to test my faith ,and strength. I lost everything business wise and yet I survive and was able to produce one of my best album since the early 80. I spend so much to produce this album ,and at no time every ask anyone for a loan. Sonia and I could not believe how Jah keep providing for us all the funds we needed just at the right time.

The only way anyone can have power over you is if they think they have sometime that you want. So after the destruction of over 12,000 CDs and the non payments of over $200,000 ,and false claims of harassment ,and various means extortion of money from us we learn how not was to attach our self to anything but to life. We turn the negative into a positive ,and now we change the way in which we conduct our business, so it don’t matter if your name is Burning Spear and you are the African Postman you still have lesson to learn.

I share these experiences with you to show you that you can lose everything and gain more than you have lost. While the persons that have a false sense of power and gain are indeed the ones that are going to lose much more than what they gain. The universe will not stop until it settle the score with them, they have fill their bowl to the brim and now it run over, and all of what they gain by dishonest means will now be expose so all the world will see, Now that why I say Jah Is Real.

Jah Is Real will be released on August 17,2008 this date was chosen in honor of Marcus Garvey earth day ,and since this album is a symbol of freedom for I man a rebirth, on the day I voice the title track Jah Is Real someone was willing to risk her freedom for this music. I could feel every tears she was crying on that day her pain fill the entire studio, I became overcome with emotion. That was the day I Burning Spear will never forget how twisted some people are, I saw clearly all what they would have done to gain control of my business and if they could not have control of my business them they would destroy it by any means necessary. Little did they know that Jah is Real ,and in trying to destroy me they are now destroy by their own hands.
The old Rastaman will do limited dates in a few cities, I have to come out for Jah Is Real. it’s a long time we don’t really see each other, I will be in various records store across the country. Preorder you copy of Jah Is Real and I will sign it either at the venue or at the records store. I want to sign every copy if I can this album will make history.
